Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
a friend of mine and I were both arrested at Walmart for petty theft. She got a felony charge because of priors aand I had a misdemeanor which I fighting. well being questioned in the walmart las prevention office I saw a a container on the floor by my friends foot, it looked like makeup and I thought it fell out if hervpurse so I picked up and put on her knee. Later at the jail after we got there the arresting officer came back and told my friend that she would be also being charged with a felony drug possession of crystal meth under a gram. She wants me to testify just that. can I get arrested on the spot for picking it up even though it wasn't mine

Yes. You can be arrested. All an officer has to have is probable cause that a crime was committed. Suggest you have your criminal defense attorney review the police report with you.
