Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
A friend of mine has a hand pistol that I purchased under my name. I recently found out that his girlfriend has it. I don't want to be respnsible if something hapeens. How can I get it out of my name, posibly without them knowing? I also heard he has a criminal record.

When you buy a handgun from a dealer who holds a FFL, he takes down all the information - your name, address, etc. What happens after that is nobody's business. You (a non-dealer) have the right to give the gun away, or sell it at a garage sale, or throw it into the lake.
The only way you would ever be liable for what somebody's girlfriend does with it is if she came to you personally and said, "I think I want to kill my mother. Can I borrow a gun?" And you gave it to her.
Or if she came to you in person and was staggering drunk, and you handed her a loaded gun.
Otherwise, you aren't responsible for what she does.
