Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
A friend of mine had to go sign for a court appointed attorney for a drug charge she wasn't arrested for.

You do not have to be arrested to be charged. She could have received a summons. She would not be appointed a lawyer if she did not have a charge against her.
