Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My friend is on probation in Montgomery County (TX) and received a new charge in Harris County (TX). He pled guilty to this new charge and is currently serving a sentence of 60 days in the Harris County jail.

Though he had a bond for the Harris County charge, he has a "no bond" for Montgomery County as well as a "hold" due to the fact that he is on probation and still has to be transferred to appear before his probation judge. He wants to be transferred early to Montgomery as he assumes they will give him another sentence for violating probation. Can he file a motion to run the sentences concurrently? Is there a standard format for this type of motion?

Normally it is a better idea to try and get both cases worked out at the same time and work a deal that goes towards both charges rather than taking a deal on one and then taking your chances.

That being said, as long as Montgomery County has a hold on this friend of yours, the time should count towards any sentence he gets in Montgomery County.
