Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My friends sister was arrested for DUI. She gave officers a false name, I believe because she was already in trouble after being arrested for giving a minor alcohol. What type of charges could she face. Could she face jail time?

Based upon what you have written, it appears that you friends sister could be charged with Texas Penal Code 38.02 (Failure to Identify). Dependent upon which subsection charged, she could be facing a Class C Misdemeanor or Class B Misdemeanor. Class C is a fine only offense and Class B has a maximum confinement of 180 days in county jail and optional $2,000.00 maximum fine. Your friend's sister should consider consulting with a law firm.
