Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
fugitive sister
About 3 years ago my brother and brother-in-law were arrested for drug trafficking and conspiracy charges. They were then found guilty and sentenced to 15 and 18 years. At the time of their arrest, my sister found out about the raid and gave her husband the heads up. Upon hearing of an arrest warrent for her their lawyer at the time adviced her to flee the country but still took her money leaving her pennyless. My question is what steps should she take to return, be with her children and avoid jailtime?

Re: fugitive sister
Avoiding jail time may not be an option. The family should consider hiring her a lawyer to negotiate her return and surrender, as well as a disposition of the charges.
Re: fugitive sister
The most prudent thing is to get an attorney and surrender.
