Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
If a girl has a baby at 17 is she considered an adult.
In Liberty Texas 77575 a 17 year old girl and a 42 year old man had a baby who is now about 3 years old. Her mother is now threaten to have the man put in jail but the girl does not want this. Can the mother or the state prosecute or is the girl the only one that can.

The state could prosecute -- it is their decision and ultimately the decision of the grand jury. Considering the time that has passed, however, it may not happen.
