Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I have a very good friend with a criminal record who has been accused of shoplifting. He has a legal aid attorney who won't even inform him of court dates and the D. A. keeps postponing his case. He can't afford a proper attorney. He's been told that the longer it drags out the better for him. Others have told him he most likely will be found guilty. We are quite sure they are using his record to get him locked up again. He's already served ALL of his time for his one crime, commited when he was just a kid. What recourse is available to him, please.
