Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
guilty by association
if i am riding home from being on vacation across 3 states in my freinds car and on the way home he tells me while we were there he picked up a significant amount of marijuana, will i be arrested for just being in the car even though i didnt know about it which my freind will confirm to the police???

Typically, mere presence is not enough for a conviction, it is sometimes enough for an arrest though. If your friend tells the cops on the spot that the stuff is his, there is a good chance they will not arrest you. There is a chance that they will arrest you though.
The best practice would be to avoid such situations if possible.
