A conviction will remain on your record the rest of your life. A deferred adjudication for many cases means that you can seal (nondisclosure) the record - immediately with some cases and after 2 years with others. (Some offenses are not eligible.)
If you qualify for expunction, then most times you can do it immediately; otherwise, you have to wait until the statute of limitations runs.
You should call a lawyer.
