Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

gun at work

I have my concealed handgun lisense, & I am a locksmith. Being that I run into many dangerous & uneasy situations, I'd like to carry my gun on me, concealed, of course. My employee handbook says I'm not allowed to have a handgun in my vehicle or on company property. If I carried it anyway, & had to use it one day, as far as the state law goes, do they look at whether my work allows it or not? Or would I just be charged on whether I'm personally lisensed?

Re: gun at work

Your employee handbook does not determine the law. If you carry the gun lawfully and use it lawfully to defend yourself, you shouldn't face a conviction, but you might get fired for violating company policy.

I hope that makes sense. If not, shoot me an email or call me.
