Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My guns were stolen out of my house by an adult over the age of 21. Is this a misdemeanor or a felony? It was a .45 pistol. Am i allowed to make a citizens arrest in this case. He admitted to stealing them.

If he committed a burglary, that would be a felony. If he just committed a theft, the amount of the theft determines if it is a felony or not. If your guns are only worth a couple hundred dollars, that would be a misdemeanor, if your guns are worth a couple thousand or more, then we are talking felony.
I would reccommend simply calling the police and letting them handle it rather than thinking about a citizens arrest. You will only open yourself up to a lot of civil liability, it isn't worth it. Call the cops and let them do their job.
