Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
What can happen if an adult (uncle) hits a minor (niece) in the face after she verbally offended him?
She is pregnant, but nothing could have happened to the child. She and her family have had problems with the law before. She has anger issues (undiagnosed but obvious when observed).

The adult could be charged with assault family violence. If the blow caused injury or pain (bodily injury) the offense is a class A misdemeanor. Otherwise it would be a class C misdemeanor.
The Domestic violence aspect of the offense can have serious long term consequences.
