What would happen if someone took my car did a hit and run and gave it back to me?

I was away on vacation and my relitive got into my house borrowed my car went to Wal-Mart did a hit and run. After she had told me that she barrowed the car but didnt tell me she wrecked. Now the cops are taking my car is it legal In the state of Texas? Please answer with some sources if you can. Its the only type of transportation. Thanks

Lack of transportation is a minor worry for you. The car is evidence in a crime. You need to be prepared to be charged with the hit and run. Suggest you hire an attorney to get your car back and show the DA that you were away.
