They can get deferred disposition, they can get probation and placement in their home or they could get probation and placement out of the home.

There are different things that could happen depending on the criminal history of the juvenile, the family structure, the desire of the parents to have the child in the home, and whether or not the juvenile has other issues such as mental illness or drug problems. In most cases, an attorney can negotiate a deferred probation, placement in the home with conditions of probation that are designed to help the juvenile to get back on track.
