Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
What is going to happen?
I did something wrong, and I am most likely going to serve jail time for it. I would just like to know what is going to happen to me. I got a credit card in someone else's name and used it. There was about $900 charged on it. What is the charge going to be and how long will I have to go to jail for?

There is no way to predict this. Each case is different. If you have never been in trouble before, you may be able to get deferred adjudication or probation. Get a lawyer.

Have you been charged with anything?
There are several things that you can be charged with depending on the facts and the DA. There is always a chance that you may not have to serve jail time. Do you currently have a lawyer?
Do you have any proir criminal charges? How old are you?

Hello there:
With respect to the other lawyers answers to this same question I feel it is necessary to answer your question directly.
The charge you have described is known credit card abuse/forgery. This is a state jail felony which holds a term of imprisonment anywhere from 180 days up to 2 years in a State Jail Facility and up to a $10,000.00 fine.
Now if you have no prior felonies on your record you are a candidate for probation in Texas. If that is so you most likely would not have to serve any jail time.
Even if you do have a felony conviction there are times when plea bargains can be made where you can be placed on probation without jail time.
You need a competent Criminal Defense Attorney to evaluate your case to determine whether or not the State can prove their case.
You need to understand that the State has the burden of proof to find you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
There is a difference between being guilty and the State being able to meet their burden of proof and you being found guilty.
