Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I have a hearing in Denton Tx regarding a protection order from my wife against myself. I need to postpone the hearing to a later date to continue and finish my psychiatric treatment. How do I postpone the hearing?

Either file a pro-se Motion for Continuance with the court; or retain a lawyer to get the matter continued, and represent you in the matter of the Protection Order. The materials you will need to prepare and file the motion can be found at the county law library.

The previous answer is correct, but you need to realize that the judge does not have to grant the motion for continuance.
