husband in federal prison 1st felony or conviction

he just suffered a heart attack last saturday. an inmate friend contacted his spouse and she called us to let us know my husband collapse while playing basketball & was unresponsive. all we knew is that he was taken to the hospital. i tried calling the prison to find out info. but since saturday night all thru tuesday night i could not get thru, get getting a recording to keep trying or try back later. tuesday night i finally got thru but they were of no help. all they said he was not in the system and didn't know where he was at. i told him i thought he might be in hospital all they said they didn't know where he was at cause he was not in the system. my husband finally called wed. morning once he was released from hospital & back to his cell. he suffered a heart attack. why didn't the facility contact me. im his point of contact. up until today they have not called me. they would not let my husband call either. my husband does not know how bad his attack was, no meds. were given to him or was not told when to follow up. as of sat. when we visited him he was not feeling well.he doesnt look good either. when asked to see a nurse he was told he had to wait until monday cuz no nurse on duty on weekends.what r his rights & ours

First, try to locate a federal criminal defense lawyer in the area where the prison is located. Then search online under federal prison reform. There are currently several class action lawsuits pending which address the issue of medical needs in the federal prison system. Good luck.
