husband being held for another county without being charged here

my husband is being held in a county jail on 3 charges for another county. he was told that they would give the other county ten business days to come get him or file an extension or he would be released then when it came ot that time he was told on the following business day they would give the other county 24 hrs to respond again. and now they told him they will hold him for 90 days and then contact the other county again. i want to know how this is legal when he has no charges against him in the county he is being held in?

you can be held on warrants in any county. Does not matter if there are pending charges in the county he is being held in or not.

Having said that, other jurisdictions are generally given 10 days to come pick defendants. If he has been in the jail longer than 10 days, you should contact an attorney about trying to get him released.

I think you should contact a lawyer. A lawyer can help get a bond hearing set. I would first try to find a lawyer in the county in which the charges arose and see if he/she would be willing to help deal with the other county problem. If not, then I would contact a lawyer in the county in which your husband is held.
