Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My husband is in jail for a misdemeanor but still has not received his public defender. How long does this usually take? The DAs office has said they will more than likely put him on probation so the only hold up is getting a lawyer to mediate.

It depends on the county. It is not supposed to be more than 48 hours, but I know that is not followed in the smaller counties.
