Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
my husband received a 72month sentence in federal prison. will he have to do the full 72 months or could he be released before the 72 months are up??

It's up to the Bureau of Prisons and the rules Congress sets. Currently, BOP can award up to 15% good time credit. So he can expect to do about 85% of the 72 months. If he qualifies he should look into the RDAP program. He can an additional calendar year off he completes RDAP program which is a drug rehab program.
