Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Identity Theft
My wife recently had a warrant issued for her arrest for giving false information to a police officer.
There was a police report written due to an arrest during the traffic stop and we obtained a copy. The report proves that this is a case of identity theft. We provided it to the authorities, but my wife was still arrested, had to post bond, and we are waiting for a court date.
If we provide the official police report which has compelling evidence that this is a case of stolen identity, will it be sufficient evidence to have the case dismissed when the judge sees it or is there more information we need to bring to court to prove our case?
