Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
ilegal search ?
I was pulled over for expired registration. I had no warrants, no reason for the officer to search my truck .
did not give him permission to search.
He searched, found one joint which I was charged with , jailed. Do I have a chance for this case to be dismissed ?
Thank you
Brad

Re: ilegal search ?
You need to hire an attorney to evaluate your traffic stop to determine if a motion to suppress should be filed.
A motion to suppress is what is filed when police officers violate your constitutional rights and if you prevail on the motion the evidence cannot be used against you because it is considered fruit of the poisonous tree.
