1 Answer from Attorneys
Re: Illegal Drugs
If you have knowledge of illegal activities, it is not your job to gather evidence. It is law enforcement's job to perform investigations based on tips, etc. If you want to report what you know, just tell police whatever you know, and let them worry about gathering proof. That is their area of expertise. If you have been involved with anything illegal, however, remember that anything yhou say could be used against you, even if you aren't given Miranda warnings first. If you want to be safe, you should consult an attorney and ask him/her to be your go-between with police.
