Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
illegal probation extension
A friend was put on probation. She was put in jail for probation violation. She was made to stay about a month. Her probation officer would taunt her by saying he was going to make sure she went to prison. At her hearing the judge said her probation had ended two years earlier and holding her was illegal. Can anything be done about her imprisonment and the taunting by her probation officer.

Re: illegal probation extension
TX has a statutory scheme for compensating those who have been wrongfully incarcerated. Check that out.
Probably nothing to be done about the PO, as he is immune from suit for actions on the job.
