Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I was indicted on a possession of cocaine and was in jail for seven months waiting to have a jury trial, the day I had my trial announcement I was told they were dropping the charge because the substance tested positive for Meth and not cocaine. Is this legal?

Yes. They can indict you on possession of meth instead of cocaine. The statute of limitations has not run.
