Re: indictment
An indictment is a piece of paper from the Grand Jury authorizing the state to go forward with its prosecution of you. A Grand Jury is a group a citizens (just like a jury) that quickly reviews the state's evidence. In most cases, the Grand Jury spends less than 2 minutes on each case. An indictment is not a testament to the strength of the state's case but simply authorization to continue the prosecution.
Once you are indicted, you will need a criminal defense lawyer.
Re: indictment
An indictment is basically something that shows a grand jury determined there was probable cause that you committed the offense and authorizes the prosecutor to go forward with their case against you.
Does it mean they have a strong case? Not necessarily. It certainly doesn't help. Then again, a ham sandwich could get indicted.
Get yourself an attorney and fight the case!
