Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Can you tell me if there is usually jail time for a first conviction of indecency with a child...the man charged was 80 years old. Also how is evidence gathered for this kind of charge?

It really depends on the facts of the case, and the prosecutor handling the case, and the judge. Evidence is gathered the same as any other offense. Cops will look for physical evidence, talk to witnesses, get statements, etc.
