Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Ok in January I got pulled over for a seatbelt and somehow ended up getting searched, and I told the cop I had 1 hydro codine that my dad gave me for my back.i had surgery in April 2009 and my back was acting up and I was in pretty sever pain due to the job I had at the time. And I had no medical insurence at the time so my dad gave me 1 pill. I have no priors or anything and I spent 10 hours in jail with 2500 bond. The cop wouldn't even let me call my dad just so he could talk to him. My question is can I get this dropped before I go to court? And can I sue the arresting police officer and station? This isnt the first time this department has had questionable arrests either. They would Arrest and dog if they could.

No, you cannot just get it dropped. You are in violation of the law by possessing the drug.
This is not a questionable arrest and you have no grounds upon which to sue.
