Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Judge made a mistake in sentencing

The judge made an error when he sentenced my daughter, and then changed the record after she left the court room . She was not made aware of this and thought the sentence she was told was the one she got and then they gave her a different sentence. Does my daughter have a right to a new hearing? Her attorney wasn't even made aware of the mistake or change in sentence.

Thank you,

Sandy

I am unable to answer your question without knowing more. I have won a recent appeal where a judge changed a sentence after it was pronounced in open court. I am very familiar with the law regarding when a judge may change a sentence.
