Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Jumping Bail
I had a court date in Dallas County in
January for a traffic warrant I bonded
out on, due to a devastating out of
town death in the family, I missed. I
completely forgot about the whole
bit, and was arrested when i went to
renew my license. I cash bonded out
of the Plano jail in Collin County, but
no one told me what i need to do
next. I called every official in Dallas
County but no one seems to be any
help. what do i do?? Should I get an
attorney?? what would my likely
outcome be?? HELP!

Re: Jumping Bail
Get a lawyer. Your cash bond should be sufficient for the lawyer to get on the attorney docket in Dallas and get the case set and either dismissed or resolved. Your cash bond would then be used to pay the fine.
