Jury Duty
what's the worst that can happen if you keep blowing off jury duty? can they put you in jail and throw away the key? what are the grounds? are there any statutes i can read up on?

The judge can hold you in contempt. As a result, the judge can issue an arrest warrant for you. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 35.03 provides for a fine of up to $50 for failure to appear.
