Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
My juvenile daughter was being barred from the mall for being an unproductive shopper (no crime was committed). I came to get her and attempted to leave the property with her. A police officer told me he needed her name. I told him he did not, that they wanted her off the property so I was taking her off the property. Am I obligated to provide her name when there was no criminal activity or suspicion of criminal activity? We live in Texas, by the way.

No, you don't have to give the police officer her name. He isn't investigating a crime; he's only acting as a lackey/lap dog for the mall owners.
