I received a letter for Jury duty. My questions is this. If I don't work my job I don't get paid. Also I work 12 hour shifts 7pm - 7am. This letter say I need to be there at 8am. What are the consiquences if I don't go. I could say I never received the letter

Having to work is not a good excuse for failing to report for jury duty. Almost every person called has to miss work. The consequences can range from the judge sending out an officer to attach you and bring you to court that day to being held in contempt of court and fined and/or jailed. Don't lie to the court, but if you do and get away with it, you are only going to be rescheduled for another day. Do your duty. Get it over with.
