Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Help!!

what is the law on defending someone in court? My wife is facing some legal problems and we just cant afford an atty.Its 2 cases the first is terroristic threat..and the second criminal trespass.both will be misdemeanors but she is on probation for a dui.Also where can i get free legal documents.I have filed a motion for discovery as well as a motion to dismiss and a motion to supress(an audio tape) but just on my computer and printed them out and submitted them.The D.A. did mention that a plea bargain might be a possibility.Help anyone?Thanks

Your wife should apply for a court-appointed attorney. You cannot represent her for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that you may do more harm than good. Practicing law without a license is a crime and doing it before the DA is the opposite of smart. Do not file motions on her behalf. Ultimately, your wife has a right to represent herself, but that is not wise given that she is already on probation. GET AN ATTORNEY!
