Is it against the law for a 17 year old about to be 18 in a week to have a sexual relationship with a 15 year old

Assuming it's consensual, you're not related, etc., no, it's not against the law as long as there's not more than 3 years between your birthdays.

Actually, it is against the law because a 15 year old cannot legally consent to sex. However, there is an affirmative defense against prosecution if there are less than 3 years between the two parties.
