Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I left bruises on my 5 year old after spanking him with belt, I know everyone says this but it was the first time I have ever left marks on my son. I have already met with CPS and a detective, but no one will let me know what's going to happen. The detective did ask if I'd be willing to turn myself in if he decided to press charges. He now wants me to turn in the belt I used on my son, what should I do? Also, does the fac that 1.it happened 2 months ago and CPS just met with me two weeks ago 2. I was recently diagnosed with depression 3. My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD 4. I have no previous charges , matter at all? Also, is there anyway I will not get charged and they will offer classes or counseling?

You need to hire a lawyer who can guide you on how to deal with the CPS and the cops. They are not your friends.
