Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
License trouble - need help!
This morning I was attempting to set up utilities for our new home. The elec co denied me imediately based upon my credit report. I have since learned that I have a ''suspended'' license and that this is really bad. I must clear this ASAP; we are to move in before 9/1. Oh my, what happened? Please advise; thank you so much!

Re: License trouble - need help!
You may have gotten a ticket for no insurance, gotten a notice from DPS to get an SR22 and pay a surcharge.
You can call DPS in Austin -- they will advise you why your license is suspended and how to get it reinstated. If it is a more serious issue, you may need to apply for an Occupational License.
As to the electric company -- there are several -- apply to all of them online. You may have to pay a higher deposit, but someone should accept you. If not, let me know by email -- may be able to locate alternate agencies that would help you.
