can any one be convicted based only on the results of a lie detector test?

Hello there,

The results of a lie detector test are not admissible in trial.

The instrument used is not a scientifically valid instrument and does not pass evidentiary rules to allow the results.

I wouldn't think so. However, guilt or innocence is usually determined by the jury after weighing all of the evidence.
