Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
life sentence
Hello, my friends husband commited a murder back in 2001 in San Antonio, TX. in july 2008 he was caught but he was caught in mexico. In order for the mexican government to hand him over to the U.S. authorities the D.A. had to agree to not pursue the death penalty. Supposedly he is getting life in prison but i would like to know if that means that he will die there or if there is a chance for him to come out sometime. he conffessed to the murder to the mexican authorities. i would appreciate any help in this matter. Thank You.

Re: life sentence
Only if the sentence includes "life without the possibility of parole" can you be assured of his demise within Texan prison walls.
