Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

i live in texas, tom green county to be exact. i recently successfully completed 10 long years on probation for a manufacturing and delivery charge in 2000 for cocaine. i completed it on january 11, 2011. On february 8,2011 i went to the drivers license office and updated my license information with my new home address and recieved my temporary paper I.D. On march 25, 2011 my temporary I.D. expired so i went in to get another one because my real I.D. hasnt been mailed to me yet. It was on this visit that i was informed that my license was suspended for 180 days and i needed to complete a drug offender education program. May i add that i have a commercial drivers license and drive an 18 wheeler everyday for work. I do remember taking the drug offender education classes as part of my conditions of probation , but no longer have the certificate of completion since i got off probation in january. the probation office is trying to look into this since it would of been required i take that class to complete the term successfully. is there a statue of limitations on something like this since this is over 10 years old? i am now worried about losing my job as i havent had the opportunity to tell my boss yet. any help would be appreciated. Chris

Wow. That is ridiculous. I have never heard of such a delay. I hope that the probation department was able to find your certificate. Otherwise, if I were you I would call DPS at (512) 424-2600 (English) or e-mail them at https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/DriverLicense/customer_service/Contact.asp

If you are not able to get it settled, contact Charles Stanfield in Houston, Harris County, Texas at 713-630-0852. He is a super knowledgeable guy when it comes to DL matters.
