Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
I live in Texas, and I am wondering about the varying penalties for a Fake ID. Does the penalty vary for IDs that contain that individuals real name versus a fake id that has a false name? Would possession of an ID that says I am a different age, but has my real name on it be any different from an ID that says I am a different age, but has a different name?
Thanks.

It depends more on the intent of the possesser for its use. It does not matter whether the ID belongs to someone else or is just a fake. Possessing it without using it is an offense, too. The offense ranges from a misdemeanor to a felony dependent on the intent.
