Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Our local youth association treasure is being questioned about her handling the association's finances. There is close to $7500 that is unaccounted for, this is in the form of cash and checks that were written for cash. She was authorized to write checks but we feel this has been abused. What can we do about this legally?

You should contact the police department if, in fact, you determine there has been a misappropriation. She should be providing receipts for any items for which you wrote checks to cash. The police will conduct an investigation and report to the DA's office and charges will be filed for felony theft.
