Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Locating case #'s for old cases
I am researching a CA 3-strikes case which involves two prior strikes which occurred in the state of TX in the years 1981 and 1983. I am desperate need of finding out the case #'s for both charges so that I can reseach each case and be sure that both are definitely valid ''strikable'' offenses in the state of CA. Is there a database somewhere or some other place I can call or visit online whereas I can enter the applicable info regarding the offender and then obtain each case #? Or if this is not something that I can do, but this can be done by a paralegal/lawyer quickly for a fee, please advise. Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Try contacting the Clerk of Court where the person was convicted. You can also try calling the prosecuting agency or the lawyer(s) that defended him/her. Or have someone pull his/her criminal record.
