Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Minor in Possession/consumption
My husband and I were out of town and both of our daughters, age 17, were home. One of them got a minor in possession ticket and the other got a minor in consumptionin our home. Was it ok for the cops to give the MIP even though she wasn't drinking. The boys admitted the beer was theirs. Also the cops didn't call us in either situation.

Re: Minor in Possession/consumption
First, since they are 17, they are not juveniles, and the police had no obligation to contact you. MIP is a tricky citation. Sometimes it is referred to an offense of smelling bad. You should get them lawyers, and see if the boys are still willing to take the blame.
