Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

If I have a Misdemeaner A from 8 years ago, have had no other issues since then, and have gotten it sealed for non-disclosure, will I have any problems being eligible to sit for the exam and getting certified to be a Sonographer/Ultrasound Tech through ARDMS? Or will I have any trouble with employment at hospitals or physician offices in the future? Also, is there any way to expunge or completely get rid of the record at all? I've heard that because of the Patriot Act, even if someone gets their record expunged or sealed, others will still be able to see it by running a check. Thank you for your help.

Your sealed record is available to anyone who conducts a thorough background check - going to the FBI, using your fingerprints, etc. Sealing really just makes your record unavailable to local background checks.

Do you have to be licensed for the positions that you mention? If so, then they will have access to your record.

You cannot get the case expunged unless it was dismissed or you were found not guilty (which obviously you were not or you would not have gotten the record sealed.)
