Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
misdemeanor dismissal
My husband is Bipolar and when he is not on meds he seems to lie alot. One day he called the police and pressed charges on me for assault and he hit himself so they would think it was me. Since I was pregnant they didn't arrest me. The next day he dropped the charges & we thought it was all cleared but I applied for a job and they told me they could hire me because I had a misdemeanor. How can I get it dismissed?

Re: misdemeanor dismissal
What do you mean 'had a misdemeanor'? Is it still pending? If so, then you need a lawyer to try to resolve it. If not, then you should be able to get the charge expunged, depending upon the time lapse.
