Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Im trying to get a misdemeanor expunged from my record. I was age 17 when I was convicted and didn't know what to do so I just plead guilty listening to my grandfather. I was harassed because I was the new girl at school and repeatedly reported it to the asst. principal who was pals with the girl. I day I was feed up so we ended up fighting and I end up with the assault charge. If I has the money I would try to ge it appealed. Please help me figure out how to get this off of my record so I can continue taking my classes in school. The incident happened in Texas and now I kive in South Carolina.

Thanks Nikkie

If you plead guilty and did not receive deferred adjudication, then you would not be eligible for an expunction. You would have to try and request a pardon from the governor, and your odds of receiving a pardon are slim to none.

If you received deferred adjudication, then you might be eliglbe for a petition for non-disclosure. This would bascically seal your record from most private entities.
