If my misdemeanor was to be expunged after three years, is this three years from conviction or arrest?

Based on what you have written, generally expunction date begins from the date of conviction. Additionally, if you were convicted, then you are probably not eligible for expunction under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. convictions do not get expunged, neither do deferreds. You might be talking about a deferred probation or something along those lines where the charges are dismissed if the probation is successfully completed. If this is the case, you might be eligible for a petition for non-disclosure which seals the records from most private entities, but does not clear your record.

Additionally, things do not automatically get expunged, you would have to file for an expunction in the civil courts.
