Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Missed court date
I missed my court date (charge theft by check). I was in hospital with emergency surgery. What do I need to do? I called to explain but wouldn't listen.

Get a lawyer right away. If it was very recent, the court may not have issued the warrant yet, and a lawyer may be able to get it set aside.

Get some documentation from the hospital showing that you were there on that date.
If you have an attorney representing on this case you could contact him/her.
If youi have no attorney, call the court and ask for the court coordinator ask them what needs to be done. Be sure you have your case number.
If all this fails contact your bail bondsman and ask them what they think you should do.
